Announcements

Fall is settling in and we're beginning to feel it in the frosty morning temperatures. It's a pretty time of year, but I really miss gardening, a hobby that I enjoy.
Students are beginning to work harder with their work in GIS now that they know we are the teachers of record. Interim reports were good.

Reading GIS students have begun working in a rotating schedule of Junior Great Book Foundation stories of truly classic literature with interpretive discussion and our National Geographic  differentiated books about Communities in the USA, Extreme Weather and Simple Machines. Some of this is quite challenging reading.

Math students have done basic Number Sense, Data analysis and Problem solving. We are now using our data analysis within a several week graphing unit. Keep working on those basic facts at home to commit them to memory. It really slows problem solving down when students are counting on fingers and toes, or adding 3 + 3 +3 +3 +3 = 15 instead of memorizing 3 x 5 = 15!

Many students are so happy with their choices in Renzulli Learning that they are doing Renzulli at home. Log on, Parents, and see what your children are up to.

We are looking forward to November conferences, and WEP goal making. Until then, have a great Autumn season.

Questions? Feel free to e-mail me. Since I travel to two buildings during the week, e-mail is the best way to reach me. My weekly schedule is on this web page if you need to speak with me or call Reedurban (330-478-6150 ext. 121) and leave a message for me with the secretary, Mrs. Williams. Reedurban is my home school. Genoa secretary, Mrs. Knotts is also able to reach me in my classroom (330-478-6171 ext. 203).
